Short Story Book Club
Philbrick Hall at Parkway Central Library
Introducing a new book club at the Parkway Central Library! On the second Monday of each month, we’ll meet from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Philbrick Hall department to discuss a collection of short stories.
The collection we'll be discussing at our first meeting is Gorilla, My Love by Toni Cade Bambara. This 1972 book was the first to collect Bambara’s own short stories, though she had previously edited anthologies of other Black writers, including Langston Hughes, Alice Walker, Audre Lorde, and others.
