July New Play Reading - Truth Speakerz
Literature Department at Parkway Central Library
Join us on July 24th and July 31st to hear two new plays brought to life by actors and afterwards meet the cast and playwright. You might just be meeting the next Suzin Lori Parks or Quiara Alegría Hudes!
Truth Speakerz (working title) by Kirstie Floyd is the first piece for July 24th.
Inspired by the music of Kendrick Lamar, Truth Speakerz follows the journey of David, a slain rapper, and his living bandmates as they remember him through song while telling the truth of his life, music and spirit. This dark night of the soul leads to healing, understanding, and ascension through music.
Kirstie Floyd is a Playwright, Dramaturg, and Teaching Artist from Philadelphia whose work skews towards abstract while remapping the path to liberation through creativity, healing, and Spirit.
The reading is free and you do not need to register. Bring a friend and we look forward to seeing you at the library.
