Join us for a presentation on cutting-edge therapeutic approaches for neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, exploring how academic research on shark biology informs clinical applications. Afterward, the Culinary Literary Center will demonstrate a healthy salad dish designed to improve body and brain health.
About the Organizers: This event is a collaboration with the Italian Scientists & Scholars in North American Foundation, of which Dr. Perni is a member. Dr. Perni holds a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Neurobiology from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, UK. He worked for a decade at the University of Cambridge, where he was a team leader and a founding member of Wavebreak Tx, focusing on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s drug discovery. In 2023, Dr. Perni moved to the US to become a founding member and Director of R&D and BD at Baz Therapeutics, an early-stage startup in Philadelphia that focuses on natural compounds for healthy aging.
