Stop the Bleed Training
Fishtown Community Library
A FREE Stop the Bleed: Bleeding Control Basic (BCon) Course training, which includes a presentation followed by hands-on practice of applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet to stop bleeding.
Certificates will be given upon completion of the training.
Why it Matters:
- Average time it takes for someone to bleed out: 3 TO 5 MINUTES
- Average time for first responders to arrive: 7 TO 10 MINUTES
- Trauma-related deaths worldwide due to bleeding: 40%
Presented by educators from Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital's Trauma program.
This program will take place on the library's 3rd floor, accessible by stairs or elevator.
