Keep Your Stuff! How to Save Your Digital Files for the Future
Heim Center for Cultural and Civic Engagement at Parkway Central Library
Join us for a panel event with the Digital Archivists of Philadelphia to learn how to manage your personal files for the long term! In the course of this hour-long event, professional archivists will cover what to do with family photos and videos, personal health, medical, and financial records, and any other digital files you might want to save for years to come.
Three different speakers will present on:
- personal records management—including when, why, and how to destroy them
- digitization—scanning, standards, and file formats
- obsolete media—how to get data off storage we no longer or rarely use, and preservation risks related to older formats
This event is free and open to anyone interested in preserving their records, both digital and physical. We hope to see you at the Heim Center, Room 131, to experience the presentations, discussions, and nifty artifacts.
