Over the span of more than four decades, Joyce Carol Oates has produced an enormous body of work, including novels, short stories, criticism, plays, and poetry. Among her many distinctions, she has received the National Book Award for them, the National Book Critics Circle Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award, the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in Short Fiction, and Pulitzer Prize nominations for three of her novels: Black Water, What I Lived For, and Blonde. An unflinching portrait of grief and survival, Oates’s new memoir documents the sudden death of her beloved husband and the generosity of the friends who helped her cope with that loss.
Marty Moss-Coane, host of Radio Times will interview Ms. Oates.
