College and Job Readiness Workshops for Teens

Spend, Save, and Give Workshop: This workshop has been designed to teach teens the importance of saving for their future, giving to others and spending their allowance or other monies given wisely.
Tuesday June 20, 4-5 p.m.
Does it Make “Cents” Workshop: This workshop has been designed to stress the importance of researching the college of their choice, cost involved to attend college and preparing through the use of savings, scholarships and grants to attend college. A review of how and when to use student loans will also be covered.
Tuesday June 27, 4-5 p.m.
So You Think You Can Work: Job Preparedness for Teens and Young Adults. Join the discussion about job preparedness and get tips on what employers are looking for and looking at. We’ll discuss resumes, cover letters, networking, and soft skills.
Tuesday July 11, 4-5 p.m.
It’s All About You: The Interview. Job interviews are an opportunity to really sell yourself and find out more about a place you want to work. We’ll prepare answers for some of the most common interview questions, and brainstorm questions that interviewees – you – should ask of prospective employers.
Tuesday July 18, 4-5 p.m.
All workshops will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level and we regret there is no elevator.
