Logan Squared: Ode to Philly
Parkway Central Library
This sound installation on the Skyline Terrace is part of Monument Lab, a public art and history project produced by Mural Arts Philadelphia and a team led by curators Paul M. Farber and Ken Lum, taking place citywide in fall 2017.
Nigerian artist Emeka Ogboh, based in Berlin, collaborated with Philadelphia poet Ursula Rucker on a sound monument, dedicated to voices of the people. Logan Squared: An Ode to Philly features an epic poem by Rucker over an original choral arrangement. It is available for daily listening around Logan Square and as a special sound installation on the Skyline Terrace of the Parkway Central Library. The library installation previews on September 8 in honor of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway’s centennial celebration and then runs on Sunday afternoons, September 24 through November 19.
