Join baker and science educator Amira Muhammad for a hands-on baking class that instructs youth ages 7 to 12 and their caregivers in the techniques of baking banana bread while encouraging creativity and sustainability. Participants will learn the science behind this quick sweet bread while exploring key concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, the different stages of matter, and the reaction between baking soda and acidic ingredients needed to make the best loaf. Participants will enjoy generous samples and take home recipes to recreate with friends and family.
Pre-registration is required; tickets are $14 per person via Eventbrite. SNAP eligible participants are provided with a free ticket, with advance communication.
