This September 28, 1953, image shows an aerial view of the construction site for the new Evening Bulletin building, at 30th & Market Streets. Relocating from 13th & Filbert Streets, the new building was designed by George Howe (the architect of the PSFS tower). At a time when newspapers were relocating to the suburbs, the Bulletin maintained its presence in the city, moving to West Philadelphia's busy transit hub.
The newspaper closed its doors in 1982, but the building was ultimately renovated and repurposed as part of the ambitious Schuylkill Yards district project. Reopened in 2020, next to Drexel Square, it is now used for office and lab space.
