Identifiable historic structures in the photograph are the Eastern State Penitentiary (bottom right), Girard College (bottom center), and behind Girard College is the Promise Academy at Roberts Vaux High School (originally opened in the late 1930s; since 2017, reopened as Vaux Big Picture Philadelphia High School).
