Prominent structues visible include St. Joseph's Preparatory School (center right), Eastern State Penitentiary (bottom right corner), Girard College (bottom center), and behind Girard College is the Promise Academy at Roberts Vaux High School (originally opened in the late 1930s; since 2017, reopened as Vaux Big Picture Philadelphia High School). Ridge Avenue runs across the center of the photograph.
