DETROIT, Mich. -- A Ford Motor Company employee
positions an instrument panel on a sealer conveyor which
is pushed into a web of "Reynolon" plastic film past a
sealer bar at the company's Instrument and Plastics Plant
in Saline, Mich. Ford this year switched from polyethylene
to Reynolon plastic film, a clear, heat shrinkable plastic
film produced by Reynolds Metals Company, for packaging
aftermarket grilles and instrument panels. The company
reports up to a 50 per cent savings in materials costs as
the result of the change.
