Do You Need One???
Kobe, Japan....These U.S. Army trucks are surplus. As far as the eye can see they are lined up at a collection pool in Kobe, Japan. The U.S. Ordnance Department of the Army has set-up depots at Kobe and Yokahoma to salvage rolling equipment which can be put in use again. The equipment is coming in from all the pacific bases and units in Japan which have been de-activated. At the present time there is over a billion dollars in equipment inthe depots. Japanese labor is used in reclaiming the vehicles. Some of them will go to the U.S. firms but most of the vehicles will be shipped to various parts of the far east, India, China, and Korea to help rebuild them where they have suffered from the ravages of war.
