WIld Bill Cummings, of Indianapolis, braved danger in the form of a possible smashup on a track made treacherous by recent rain when he cut (left) in front of Mauri Rose, of Columbus, O. (third from left), early in the Langhorne Sweepstakes yesterday, as shown above. He got away with it, though, and for the remainder of the 35 miles wisely drove a heady and conservative race, never losing the lead and winning in the sensational time of 23 minutes 14 2-5 seconds.
