Notes:
Catalytic Converter--On 1975 Chrysler and Plymouth engines, a stainless steel catalytic converter oxidizes hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. The converter and other elements in the exhaust system are heat-shielded to protect the passenger compartment and other underbody components. Catalyst-equipped engines must use no-lead fuel, since elements in leaded fuel "poison" the catalyst and destroy its effectiveness.
