Gathering in the Late Hay Harvest. Novel Method by Essex Farmer.
An ingenious way of quickly gathering in the hay harvest, is being used by Mr. Magness of Bowers Farm, Springfield near Chelmsford, who has attached fork sweepers to the front of his car, which enables him to push the equivalent of a cart-load of hay up to the stack. Owing to the consistent rain the harvest has been delayed and farmers are not hard-pressed to complete the cutting before commencing the corn harvesting.
Photo shows Mr. Magness arriving at the haystack pushing a fresh consignment of hay before him.
