Foot-Power Touring in Holland-- Zandvoort, Holland: Gasless cars called "Fietstaxis"-- or foot taxis--make their debut at Zandvoort-by-the-sea in Holland to furnish gasless Hollanders, and visitors, with a breezy ride--if they don't mind pedaling their own. The cars, of light-weight metal, have one control for steering and a set of double pedals for pedaling. It can carry two passengers in front and has a rumble seat for a third passenger. Cars can be rented by hour or day, and are a break for the Dutch, who are forbidden by law from using their autos on Sunday in order to save gas. Here Elwood Kough, of Altoona, PA., and Thomas Kagami, of Hawaii try one of the Fietstaxis at Zandwoort. Both boys are G.I.'s from the occupation zone in Germany, visiting Holland for their leave.
