My Dear Mac
Will you put the No on the enclosed, that John may take it? - I have asked him to paint for me, two little companion pictures. One, a Dolly Varden. One, a Kate Nickleby.
I have been working feebly all day; and between that and the weather, am damnably hipped. Shall we repair to some Saloon tonight? If so, I'll call on you, about half past seven.
Faithfully Yours always
