The Straight Eight models of the 1934 Auburn are equipped with new Lycoming engines with a bore of 3-1/16 and a stroke of 4-3/4 inches. The Custom line has an aluminum engine cylinder head, downdraft carburetor of duplex design and develops 115 brake horsepower at 3500 RPM. Standard straight eight has a cast iron head, single barrel carburetor and output of 100 horsepower at the same engine speed.
