Fireball engine with compound carburetion--the above photograph shows Buick's new fuel-supply system with two dual carburetors feeding the new "fireball" engine. The combination of compound carburetion and the "fireball" design has resulted in a market step-up in power and a vast improvement in fuel economy. Horsepower on the Buick super series has been increased from 107 to 125, and on the century, roadmaster and limited series from 141 to 165. Proving ground tests show that the 165 h.p. engine in the 1941 Buicks gives more miles per gallon at 50 m.p.h. than was obtained on last year's 107 h.p. engine at like speed. Compound carburetion is available on all modelsin the super, roadmaster, century and limited series and is optional equipment on the special series.
