THE PERFORMANCE-PACKED NEW RIVIERA GRAN SPORT BY BUICK TO BE SEEN AT THE AUTO SHOW

The new model of the Riviera, in production only a few weeks on a customizing line at Buick's main plant in Flint, on exhibition at the annual Auto Show. The Gran Sport has a 425-cu.-in engine, twin four-barrel carburetors, fast-opening speeds. Special options were engineered into Riviera by Buick to produce the Gran Sport, one for exceptional performance and the other for ride and handling. Road tests show that the Gran Sport will accelerate to 60 mph in a little more than seven seconds, reach a quarter mile from a standing start in just under 16 seconds, Buick engineers report.
