Monday Evening April Twenty Second
1844.
My Dear Serle.
The Captain of the Britannia has written me, that unless the berth be taken straightaway, she can't go by that ship, as it is filling fast. Will you draw me a cheque for the passage-money (leaving the sum blank, as I don't at this moment know what it is - I will put it in when I find out) & send the same to me forthwith.
In haste Ever Yours
