Notes:
The Chaparral II sports-racing car, which beat the best from Europe and Detroit in the recent Sebring 12-Hour Race, features a frame made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Currently on display at the N.Y. Coliseum in the Design Engineering Show, the Chaparral II is a source of fascination to engineers because it has proved the value of its innovations on the race track. Its designer and builder, Jim Hall of Midland, Texas, won the 1964 Sports Car Driver's Championship in it as well as the Sebring race.
