My Dear Sir
I really cannot tell you how much obliged to you I feel, for your great interest and kindness.  Your letter is so valuable to me for the clear and practical light in which it presents its subject, that I wish to give it my attentive consideration for a few days.  I will then write to you further.
I have a real affection for Birmingham and the Birmingham people, and it would be an unspeakable satisfaction to me if I could associate myself with the town through my boy.
Believe me always
Very faithfully Yours
Charles Dickens

Arthur Ryland Esquire
