GAD'S HILL PLACE
HIGHAM BY ROCHESTER, KENT
Wednesday Night, Nineteenth September 1860.
My Dear Arthur,
We have not settled what is to be paid for Frank. Perhaps it is as well that we should not, until he has been with you for a week or two. Then Georgina or Mary, can very easily arrange that, by coming up to the old corner when we are next in town. Perhaps you may be able (this note seems to be altogether in the possible mood, I find), to come down with him from Saturday to Monday before long, and have a breath of Kentish air.
With kindest regards and with a perfect confidence that Frank cannot be better than with you all,
Ever Faithfully Yours,
Charles Dickens
