Dear F.C.
I write with some difficulty, having a gathering in my right thumb.
I have seen Mr. Fildes, and like him very much, and think he promises admirably. I have arranged with him that his original drawings shall remain his own (his reason for wishing it has a direct bearing on the efficiency of his work), and also that you will at once send him a proof of the Cover. Please do so, without delay.
Faithfully Always
