Reproduction of a woodcut after an original drawing by Winslow Homer. The illustration is in two sections separated by two crossed rifles with bayonets. The upper image shows women at work sitting at a large table, with a man in uniform standing behind one of them seemingly making an inspection of a cartridge. The bottom image shows four men working at  separate tables.
