STEERING WHEEL LOCK--- A new steering wheel locking mechanism is provided as standard equipment on all 1970 models of Chrysler, Plymouth, and Imperial to aid as a deterrent of theft. The key cylinder is located on the upper right side of the steering column just below the steering wheel where the key is inserted into the slot to operate the combination ignition switch and steering wheel lock. The new unit has three positions that include "Lock", "Accessory", and "Off". The key can only be inserted or removed when it is in the "Lock" position and if the key is left in the switch when the driver opens his door, a buzzer sounds to remind him to remove the key. The steering wheel can only be locked when the transmission selector is in the "Park" position for automatic transmission cars and in "Reverse" position for manual transmissions to prevent the loss of steering when the car is in motion.
