CHRYSLER MOTORS' FIRST multi-valve engine is a 2.2-liter, 16-valve DOHC turbo (cutaway at top) with multi-point injection that propels the 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T from 0-to-60 mph in 6.8 seconds. Spirit R/T is the fastest 4-door sedan sold in America for under $20,000.
ON THE TRUCK SIDE, the 1991 Dodge Dakota gets V-8 power with a 5.2-liter EFI engine (cutaway at bottom) that delivers 165 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The Dakota is the only small pickup with a V-8 engine.
