Notes:

Phil Hill, America’s first Formula One Grand Prix champion, put his driving talents to work in North America’s longest rally, the 8,800-mile Uniroyal One Lap of America event. Hill drove a 1985 Chrysler LeBaron GTS, the official car of the event. It was a different kind of motor competition for the 54-year old Santa Monica, California, driver and his team of John Lame and Dick Eclebarger as they drove through blizzards to desert sun across 28 states. Car and crew came through in top shape after eight days of almost continuous driving to finish 10th out of 74. A navigational miscue early in the rally eliminated the team from a shot at victory.
