New Type Springs
Double cantilever rear springs are exclusive on Continental, wide, strong, anchored to tubular cross member, fastened to top and bottom of axle housing. Reduce unsprung weight, give low center of gravity, prevent side-sway, increase stability. No wind-up of axle when brakes are applied. Eliminate axle chatter. A – top view. B – side view. C – complete assembly.
The Only Shackle
Continental Beacon and Flyer chassis have only one spring shackle, at the right end of the transverse front spring. It’s a threaded U-shackle. Allows freedom of movement. An exclusive feature.
