Leading Chicago’s gigantic air races parade. As a fitting tribute to progress in automotive transportation, three Cord front drive cars were chosen as the official vanguard to lead the opening parade of the National Air Races held here Aug. 20 to Sept. 1, 1930. One of these cars was in white, one in red, and another in blue. Photo shows the cars lining up ready to start the moving spectacle through Chicago’s loop.
