From this Fairmount neighborhood image, one can see in the city skyline the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the upper-left corner, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church to the right.

Callowhill Street no longer extends to 24th Street.  In the 1960s, traffic modifications isolated the Eakins Oval and created an entrance to the Vine Street Expressway, thus terminating Callowhill Street at 20th Street.  The area shown in these photographs has been occupied since 1959 by the Park Towne Place Apartment Homes.
