De Soto ca. 1948 New Instrument Panel
New instrument panel has brighter, safer non-glare lighting, with improved contrast and greater legibility by day and night, along with neater appearance. Starter pedal on floor replaced by new push button on dash for new starter that protects starting motor from being held in engagement after engine starts. Steering wheel has new color treatment and horn-blowing ring and center ornament, harmonizing with new interior styling. Safety signal speedometer has improved color warning for various speed ranges indicated on speedometer dial as well as on pointer.
