Media Type:

Notes:
Scene at the first Automobile Show, held in the old Madison Square Garden in 1900. At this exhibition of so-called "Devil Wagons" there were 31 exhibitors of complete cars and 20 exhibitors of parts and accessories. It seems a far cry from these few dauntless rattletraps to the 300 or more passenger cars and several hundred accessories and trucks at the 28th Annual National Automobie Show in Grand Central Palace, January 7 to 14. At the first show people were afraid to get close to the curious contrivances.
