Notes:
Crowds which thronged Grand Central Palace for the opening of the New York Automobile Show had an opportunity to demonstrate for themselves the riding qualities of the new Ford V-8 cars for 1936. Riding in a new Ford V-8 on a belted “highway” designed to simulate bumps and ruts of the average country road, thousands of passengers were amazed at the way the new spring suspension and the shock absorbers smoothed out the road. Photo above shows a typical test on the belted road, with the attendant at the right tossing large blocks under the wheels of the moving car.
