Design for background to be installed midway on the grand staircase at the Park Avenue end of Grand Central Palace, where the 1937 National Automobile Show will be staged from October 27 to November 3. A huge globe revolves slowly against a background of fleecy clouds and speeding over the surface of the globe is a nearly life-size streamlined car driven by a joyous maiden. “Putting the World on Wheels” is the slogan of the show. The obtuse angles at the lower right and left indicate where the balustraded stairway will divide, rising to the mezzanine floor.
