Title: New York National Automobile Show 1937 Grand Central Palace architect's drawing of 'column of light'
Media Type:
Photographic Prints
Source: Automobile Reference Collection
Notes:
Architect’s drawing of one of the 32-foot columns of light – part of the decorative scheme for the 1937 National Automobile Show to be held in Grand Central Palace, New York, October 27 to November 3. Unfortunately, this does not do the design justice. The central cross-barred section is a tall column of illuminated glass bricks and the sheathing on either side is polished copper.
