Music throughout is on five-line staves, one line of music per tune. The title of each song takes up about 3/4 of the page (oblong sheets) and is decorated in watercolors with images of birds, trees, flowers, and geometric shapes.

Pasted inside front cover: "This book was made by Thomas Collins a brother of Jane Collins who was the mother of our dear Mother Jane Macnamara, afterwards Mrs. Dorlund. 1774 R. M Smith"
