According to historic atlases, this large property was a vinegar plant (1942 atlas) and a cardboard company (1962), but which use in 1949 is not identified. It occupied 1511-1539 S. Front Street and 37-39 Tasker Street, in a mixed commercial and residential area of South Philadelphia. This photograph shows the Tasker Street view. The entire property was demolished some time after 1962, but the date is unknown.
