This is the architect's rendering for the Columbia Avenue Branch, by the firm Wright, Andrade & Amenta. The branch opened in 1962, succeeding the Wagner Institute Branch (which still exists at 17th & Montgomery as a science and natural history museum). In 1987, the branch was renamed the Cecil B. Moore Branch, in honor of civil rights activist and civic leader Cecil Bassett Moore.
The Cecil B. Moore Branch serves North Central Philadelphia, Strawberry Mansion, Brewerytown, Sharswood, and the Johnson Homes.
