First Dodge Four Door Sedan – 1919
Price $1,690.00-bumpers extra. These early Dodges had a hand pump air pressure fuel feed. You “pumped up” to deliver gasoline to the carburetor. The gear shift which was special to Dodge had its Reverse position back and to the left, First or low gear, forward and to the left, Second, back and to the right, and High, forward and to the right. In contrast to the smoothness of today’s All-fluid Drive, the most skillful drivers of these early Dodge cars was unable to avoid jerky starts. Dodge manufactured 121,010 cars in 1919 – is now approaching the 6,000,000th car milestone. (ca. 1950)
