Wayfarer sedans equipped with Gyro-Matic transmissions are coming off the assembly line at Dodge Main in Detroit. Now available on the lower-priced Dodge cars, Gyro-Matic previously was limited to Coronet models. Dodge is now equipping more than 50 per cent of all models with Gyro-Matic.

Dodge is now shipping a substantial number of Meadowbrook and Wayfarer sedans equipped with Gyro-Matic shift-free transmissions, E.C. Quinn, Dodge general sales manager, said today.

“Until recently, because of production limitations, we had to limit Gyro-Matic to the Coronet models,” he said. “We are happy to be able to offer this very popular feature now on our lower priced Meadowbrook and Wayfarer sedans, as well as on the Wayfarer Business Coupe.”

Quinn said that approximately 80 per cent of the Coronet models, 25 per cent of Meadowbrook sedans and 11 per cent of the Wayfarer sedans and Business Coupes shipped in recent weeks were quipped with Gyro-Matic, the lowest priced automatic transmission.
