Notes:
Push-Button Driving Comes True
Operating with the same ease as a push-button radio, these push-button controls will select the desired driving range on all 1956 Dodge cars equipped with PowerFlite automatic drive. Located on a graceful extension on the left side of the instrument panel, the controls can be reached without moving the arm forward, yet are not accessible to passengers, a safety factor when children are in the car. The car engine can only be started when in neutral; an hydraulic interlock prevents the driver from inadvertently selecting “reverse” when the car is moving forward more than 10 m.p.h. The buttons are edge-lighted for night driving.
