Media Type:
Photographic Prints
Source: Automobile Reference Collection
Notes:
COMPUTER CONTROLLED – Chrysler’s Electronic Lean Burn Engine, introduced in mid-1976 on Charger SE and Royal Monaco models, is also available on the intermediate Dodge Monaco for 1977. Sensors under the hood send the engine’s spark advance computer a continuous stream of data on engine RPM, coolant and air temperatures, vacuum, throttle position and rate of change. In a split second, the computer programs the degree of spark advance needed to meet the changing conditions for maximum engine performance.
