Notes:
The Girard Avenue Branch opened on December 16, 1968. This interior view of the children's reading room was taken in 1969. Of note is the substantial skylight ceiling, repeated in the adult reading room as well.
The City Council renamed the branch on May 27, 1977, in memory of Ramonita de Rodriguez, a local Puerto Rican educator and community leader.
The branch serves the communities of Olde Kensington, Kensington South, Ludlow, Yorktown, East and West Poplar, Northern Liberties, and Girard/Poplar.
