Notes: Erskine "The Little Aristocrat", South Bend, Ind. Named after president of Studebaker. (1) All instruments and controls on the New American edition of the Erskine Six are placed to afford maximum convenience to the driver. The instrument board is finished in two-tone lacquer. Instruments are set under glass in a new and attractively designed panel, which is indirectly illuminated to prevent night driving glare. Instruments include hydrostatic gasoline gauge in addition to speedometer, ammeter and oil pressure gauge. Coincidental lock to ignition and steering, the key to which also operates the door lock is mounted on the steering column. Automatic windshield cleaner, rear-vision mirror, and cowl ventilator are other items of regular equipment. Windshield is adjustable for ventilation. 1928 (2) The motor of the New American Edition of the Erskine Six. Bore has been increased to 2 3/4 inches, with 4 1/2 inch stroke. Cylinders are cast en bloc with detachable head. Even higher gasoline economy has been effected with improved manifolding and carburetor. Four point engine suspension is used with the rear motor supports cradled in rubber to prevent the transmission of vibration to the frame of the car: 1928
