The deep, narrow radiator on the Dynamic New Erskine lend an air of dignified refinement to these models. The shell is chrome plated. Radiator, of the fin and tube type, has a capacity of 3 1/4 gallons. Centrifugal pump keeps water in constant motion, circulating 38 1/2 gallons per minute at 40 miles per hour. Water flow is thermostatically controlled. Bottom: New Burgess Acoustic Type Muffler. The Dynamic Acoustic Type Muffler. The Dynamic New Erskine models are equipped with a new Burgess acoustic type muffler. Its unique design presents many important advantages not possessed by the conventional muffler. The walls, lined with steel wool, absorb sound waves without retarding passage of the exhaust gasses with the result that back pressure is eliminated and the effective horsepower in the engine increased. (A) Cross section of acoustic muffler. (B) Conventional muffler design. Graph shows progressive increase in engine horsepower obtained by acoustic muffler over conventional type.
