Notes: Erskine "The Little Aristocrat", South Bend, Ind. Named after president of Studebaker. Top: Dynamic New Erskine Brakes. Duo-Serve, mechanical, internal expanding, four wheel brakes on all Dynamic New Erskine models assure positive, powerful braking action of over twice the efficiency required by standard safety codes. A new safety hookup eliminates the possibility of failure. The handbrake operates on all four wheels. Bottom: Dynamic New Erskine Rear Axle. Exceptionally sturdy construction makes rear axle failure one of the most remote of possibilities in the Dynamic New Erskine. Extra large Timkin tapered roller bearings support spiral bevel gears of Chrome Molybdenum steel and result in smooth quiet operation. Precision-cut gear faces carbonized to maximum hardness. Axle shafts are of Chrome Molybdenum steel, and alloy originated by Studebaker Metallurgists.
